Understood what Under Stood

It was another day at work and just then Akshay finished saying to his bus mate,'What man it’s the same s..t, another day!' And called Joe for a coffee at 15:00 hrs so that they can talk on the millionaire who was then a slum dog. Sashank was as usual relaxed and was sighing at Akshay, as he made the statement.

The day began as usual, and mails began to pour in.Ram was at his high, responding to mails impulsively, with a hand on his head.Cursing himself for having joined the company and added pepper to it by thinking, it would have been heavens had he moved to Uncle Sam!

Shekar, the office assistant who stood for a long time seeing Akshay’s action , begged his pardon and said, ‘Akshay ji, relax , you seem very much frustrated, there is nothing so much to worry in life, life will keep going and time will take care of everything’. This statement made Akshay to get on his nerves and say, ‘Get out you old Fakir’. Shekar went out politely and said to Kapoor his commerade that, ‘Akshay ji just called him Mahatma Gandhi, with a smile and sat on his stool’.

The time was half past 11 and Akshay’s mobile phone rang. Akshay generally hates answering to unknown numbers and with a frown he decided to shout at whoever is on the other end. Since it was 10th time that number flashed on his mobile, within a span of 10 minutes.

Akshay heard a hoarse voice that wanted to confirm his name by asking, ‘It is Akshay? In a local slang’.

Akshay, responded, ‘yes, what the hell do you want, are you any credit card company , I don’t want you …..,if not tell what do you want, I am going for a meeting’.

The hoarse voice asked , ‘Do you know Param?’

Akshay said, ‘Yes, he was my college mate, what’s to him?’

The hoarse voice said, ‘He is lying on the road near the toll plaza near Helical electronic city without any consciousness, your number is the first in his mobile and can you come immediately’.

Akshay latently responded, ‘What happened, is he OK, please call a ambulance and added that he is in the other end of the city’ and the phone got cut.

Akshay ran cold for a moment and cursed himself for not picking the phone all the while and recalled the worst fight he had with Param during the college days despite Param being his neighbour.

Akshay ran helpless and he called up his parents and asked them to visit Param’s house and call up to confirm if it was Param who was lying unconscious or it was a prank.

Thirty minutes later, a road traffic constable called up Akshay from the same number and informed that Param is taken to the hospital.

Akshay always envied Param, since Param went to Uncle Sam for his higher edu, had a ford, earned a big cheque, owned a house and most importantly had a girl friend.

However, Akshay, rightly surpassed his ego and Freudian thoughts, and rang up his father and told him to rush to Parvathi hospital where Param, was taken to.

After an hour it was learnt that Param was already dead!

Akshay couldn’t control his tears and felt helpless. Shekar came in and asked what happened? Akshay shared the whole incident.

70-year-ol Shekar politely then said, never envy, anger is the cause of all misery, never ignore anyone, for someone you will be the world and in world you will be just some one, Akshay ji. He further said the famous history of what Alexander the great told his courtsmen, ‘ Ensure that my hand is outside my coffin, the world will then know even Alexander who conquered everything , took nothing in his hand when he died’.

That moment Akshay understood what under stood for every human rather every living being .
