One smile and thats all it takes........

'What if we cross a human student with an alien..??' Will it be a species from another UNIVERSE-ity?

If you thought that was funny then you must have : a.smiled or b.laughed .Did you realise that for you to express this behavior your brain needed to do a complex process .However, this complex process makes so many other worldly processes to become simple.

Whatever you do you get it back? Is it not? What is the most instant thing you can do and get it back, and whatever you did was worth a life time investment? Guesses??

Its SMILE.... :) Smile .a Mile everyday . Here is a short fiction on how smile can make a difference.

“Good morning Professor!”…said Priya , a third year post graduate student at - school of economics, University of Madras.

“….Morning…”...said Prof.Gupta (popularly known as Gup amongst students) still with a stern face even after getting the lifetime achievement award for his contributions to Economics …….

“Huh….this Prof is a nerd……he cant reply back properly….” Priya said with her hands giving her forehead a slap and looked at Meera.

‘What you want him to do… hug and say oh! My sweety, have a great day is it?’ chuckled Meera

“Shut up Meera, enough of your ‘mokkai’ jokes vokies…cant that Gup even smile… …I don’t know Meera how his wife and children put up with him”

‘Hey, listen Prof.Gup never likes his students smiling and remember he is our placement officer and for heaven sake don’t pass comments he can ruin our lifes at the placements..’said Meera as she hit Priya with her elbow.

As they spoke, the girls were heading to the campus placement office, with a pile of photocopies that was enough to cover their faces, as both Priya and Meera wanted to submit their resumes before they sat for a marathon combined study at Bramaputra, the famous girl’s hostel of the University. Meera was a studious and a charming girl who was always popular for her academic knowledge while Priya was popular amongst all for other reasons, specially the boys for she just won the Miss .beautiful smile of the campus.

‘It’s already dinner time and what are you doing Meeru???’...asked Priya

“Your smile is so graceful…and its not letting me peaceful… you are so beautiful….shall we join hands to make life meaningful”….. were the encrypted scripts that Shyam a first year undergrad student gave to Priya three days ago.Meera pulled it out of Priya’s suitcase and was bullying her , with her one eye still scanning the pages of international business management.

‘Hey…Meeru …will you please close it and come for dinner??’

‘I cannot starve and go with a rotten face for tomorrows campus interviews and its East& West finance solutions coming and I cant afford to goof on it ’…..Meera said , and was already putting her chappals.. ‘ do you realize we haven’t even studied for the interviews , better put those cheapo letters down and rush down to the mess’ and Priya vanished like a lightning.

‘Why you never turned out for the dinner…..Meeruu?’

‘I was reading Priya…..you were right East& West are big names in our field and it takes a lot to get in ’said Meera as she was geared upto burn the midnight oil at the expense of her dinner.

‘Oh...my god so you are not going to eat….hmmm….do whatever you want. Goodnight and get Gup in your dreams....’ said Priya and the prodigal room mate jumped on to her bed and draped her with a beautiful bed sheet her brother got from Shangai.

It was the D-Day and the placement office was buzzing with sound and abruptly snapped to silence when Prof.Gupta entered the office. It was 10:00 and Meera was called in. She knew its going to be Prof.Gupta who will be there in the panel and she made sure she did not smile or did any other gesture that would annoy him. She waited for him to give the signal for her to sit.

‘What’s the fiscal year growth of ………….’ asked Mr. Ram the recruitment officer for East&West. After a mind blowing Q&A sessions Meera cam out and was all happy with her performance. She warned Priya on how she must conduct herself in front of the panel as Gup was sitting in it. The clock ticked 11:05, and next to get in was Priya. She knew she will get the job even though she has not prepared the previous night and she said to herself….. ‘Conduct yourself properly and you become manager Ms.Priya….’ and smiled to herself before she entered the interview room.

Results were out by 5:00 in the evening and except for Priya all others goofed including the academically bright Meera.

‘Guess what made us to choose Ms.Priya, for this position?’ asked Mr. Ram.

She was the only person who smiled and had a pleasing gesture at the right time and that’s important for any manager, and others do smile and have a pleasing appearance when you go in for interviews.

So guys , it jus take 5 pair of muscles for us to smile and it can make a lot of difference to our lives as well to others.

Areeeeeeeeeeeeeey ...smile please......

So true.I totally believe in the philosophy which says 'smile as it costs nothing'. Its a total icebreaker. And it instantly puts the other person at ease in any scenario. If many realize this a lot of things will indeed fall into place.
